I do believe that in times previous I have made mention of the fact that husband and I are quite ready to move. Not that our apartment has been in any way unsuitable, but we are in need of more space... and less neighbors. Add to that the drama of not "properly terminating our lease" (which resulted in a rent considerably higher this month than what we've previously been paying) and the random items we have found in our hallway, and the decision was practically made for us.
For various reasons, we wished to stay downtown. We also wished for two bedrooms, an overall cleanliness and a washer and dryer in the apartment. Not to mention air conditioning. All for less than we've been paying now. (Which would shock all of you that don't live in California or NYC I'm sure.)
Though we weren't able to achieve all of our goals (namely in the price point area) we were able to secure a lovely condo just three blocks from where we are now. It was completely redone two years ago, stripped down to the rafters, with the original wood floors restored to their lustrous glory. All of the appliances are new and it's on second floor of a tiny complex that is mainly comprised of an HOA. We just happen to be renting from one of the owners. Huzzah for included utilities!
We're quite excited to make the move, though sad to leave our first place together that was completely ours. (House sitting for peeps for eight months doesn't quite count.)
The only thing I am slightly dreading is the actual packing, moving, unpacking part. But considering the fact that I have moved six times in the last five years, I should be an expert by now. We'll post some pics once we're settled.

Hooray for you! But sad for us. Each time you commented on not loving your place, I though, "you should move into ours!!" Fortunately, we have a great tenant through December - at least. Chat with me then if you're pining for a change of scenery... though I won't wish it upon you :).
Hope the move is a great one!!
Six times? Oh, you're old hat at this moving thing. It will be a cinch. And how exciting! I love remodeled places--wood floors are a gem.
I am jealous. I won't lie.
I'm in the midst of packing up my life once again...though the move is much less substantial than last time, only like 15 miles instead of 1,800 plus...
It's always weird emotionally for me to leave one place and look back at all the memories I made there.
So, here's to many new and wonderful memories in your new condo!
Congratulations on the move. Yes, packing and upacking sucketh, but oh my, it will be so nice to not walk out your front door and find a grocery cart with a pad in it.
I hate packing and unpacking. With a vengeance.
And included utilities?! Lucky!
I don't even want to know the price, don't tell me.
Can't wait to see it. :)
Was that a little hint that you need more space...?
no that was not a pregnancy hint. (does somebody have babies on the brain? he hee.) we would just like more than 500 square feet and a room where we can set up an office. that is all.
Yeah! That sounds wonderful. Can't wait to see the pictures.
Uh. I hate moving. Good luck, I am glad that it is at least close.
