One of the first dances I've really enjoyed all season

I'm not lying when I say that SYTYCD has left me a tinge disappointed this season. I kind of feel like the dancers and the choreography haven't been as on point as they have in other seasons. (And there's also the frustration of having some great choreography danced by the wrong dancers. Remember Caitlin and Jason's hip-hop routine? Or the Randi and Evan samba disaster?)

At any rate, I do have a few favorite dancers, and so I was most pleased when two of them were paired together for last night's show. And I was even happier that it was a great hip-hop number to a great song.

Enjoy.

So You Think You Can Dance Dance Dance Dance Dance...

G was a great sport and accompanied me to the So You Think You Can Dance tour. I won't lie, I screamed like I would have for Jordan Knight circa 1991 at a New Kids on the Block concert. I just love dance, and wish I could dance, and to see all of my favs in person was really amazing. I was SUCH a hot mess. (But, it is important to note that I wasn't that over the top compared to the 55 yr old lady who was sitting next to me dancing and singing the entire time... we're talking flailing arms and everything. Better then my mom at a Sting concert for sure.)

We had amazing seats to the side of the stage, and I have to give a shout out to my boss, Shann, who was able to work some connections and get such great seats. Being there was kind of emotional for me too because Steve bought the tickets for us. My initial plan was to see if Shann could get a hold of some tickets and then I would pay for them. She was able to find some, and unbeknownst to me, Steve paid for them a few days before he passed away. That's just the kind of guy he was. He knew how I was feeling lately about my place at work. He knew I was feeling forgotten. And, as always, he was mindful of me. So it was a really special evening to us. And that's all I'm going to say about that because I'm getting teary.

At any rate, it was one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen. And I got to see Will Wingfield dance. Talk about beautiful. Below are some pics from the glorious event. (I realize they're a bit pedestrian, but they turned out better than I thought they would.) Thanks to the Gregory who put up with all of the teenage girl screams, the speaker right above our heads and an extremely excited wife. Love you honeyhoney.

I'm such a hot mess right now.

In my experience, one thing that results from a sedentary job is the propensity to look forward to certain happenings to help the week go by faster. This is a great week for such distractions.

#1: The Baseball All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium

Pretty self-explanatory
since I heart baseball and heart the Yankees. (Yes, even when they suck.) This is the last year that the Yankees will be using their historic stadium, so it's kind of a big deal to those who care. And Rivera better close. You heard me, Papelbon.

#2: So You Think You Can Dance Top 10

I am seriously infatuated with this show and with its incredible dancers. Dancing is always something that I wish I would have been able to do well, and I love seeing the various styles of dance that are performed each week. This week features the Top 10 dancers, and all of the couples that have been together the last few weeks are going to be mixed up. I really, REALLY want to see Chelsie and Will dance together. Or Chelsie and Twitch. Or Will and Twitch. He hee. (Hmm, can you tell who my top three are?)

#3: Project Runway Season Five

I think this show is so fierce (sorry, I had to) and fun to watch. I love seeing the dimension and creativity of all of the designers. Plus, it's on Bravo, so you know there's always going to be some fabulous drama. And it's on the same night as SYTYCD, which is probably one of the greatest occurrences in television history. He hee.

#4: The Dark Knight

I haven't been this excited for a movie in a long time. I've readily admitted that I am a huge Batman nerd, and Nolan's resurrection of this franchise has so far been quite pleasing. I cannot wait to see this movie. Greg and I have been so excited, we bought tickets last week to ensure that we could see it opening day. Judging from the reviews I have read, we will not be disappointed. (Plus, how can you beat 2 1/2 hours of Batmany bliss? With the Joker? AND Two Face? You can't. You just can't.)

I like it like that...

I'll admit it, I'm a HUGE fan of So You Think You Can Dance. I'm not even ashamed about it; I'll profess my love for it openly and profusely. Man, I wish I could dance like that. (Or at all, really. The best compliment I ever received wasn't that great: "You're a good dancer for a white girl." CRINGE.)

Anyway, this week, my favorite dance was Jessica and Will's lyrical jazz number. When I saw it, the only word that came to my brain was "DAMN." (Sorry mom, but it's true!) So enjoy, and tell me if you agree.
