Bon Iver and Jenny Lewis

Yesterday, the husband and I ventured down the the Gallivan Center to see Jenny Lewis and Bon Iver perform. (For free, might I add.) We met up with our friends, the Lubbers, and thoroughly enjoyed the music.

Ms. Lewis did an incredible acoustic performance of "Silver Lining" that gave me chills (man, can that woman sing) and I was so happy when Bon Iver performed "Skinny Love" and "Wolves" (Justin Vernon's falsetto is off the chain, I tell you what).

I think the only qualms I had were all of the d-bags who decided to be inconsiderate and smoke, even though there were signs posted everywhere, and the concert organizer said at the beginning that smoking was prohibited. And while I can understand the fact that some people choose to smoke... I just don't want to breathe it in. Especially when it's not allowed in the first place.

But I digress. In all, it was an incredible show, and I do believe that husband and I will be back for more.

Glad you had a good time! The smoking thing bugs me, too. They tried to make OSU a non smoking campus, but it didn't work, and it sucked to have to walk through clouds of smoke on my way to class.

Boo to inconsiderate smokers.

Hey! We saw Jenny Lewis with Connor Obrest on the 4th. Also free - bless their hearts. I hadn't heard Jenny before we went - but I really, really like her sound!

I hate when people smoke at concerts. I don't care as much when it's marijuana, but cigarettes? Come on. Looks like a good time!
