Having three moms is pretty cool

Married life is great for many reasons, one of them being that fact that you (at least) double your family. This Mother's Day was pleasant, if not a bit hectic, because we visited all three moms. Yup, we hung out with Greg's mom, step mom and my mom all in one day! And we got to talk to Greg's sister Kate, who is on an LDS mission in Argentina. It was a nice day, to say the least.

I thought a lot more about Mother's Day this year because this is the first Mother's Day of my married life. Though I'm not a mother yet, it all seems a lot closer now, which made that day even more special to me than in years past. To know that one day I will have the privilege of being a mother is such a phenomenal thing.

Since I am blessed with not one, but three great moms, I thought it would be nice to highlight some of the reasons I love them.

First off, I'm going to discuss my mom. She is so amazing. She cares so much about the family, and always tries to do what she thinks is in the best interest of those she loves. She is hands down the most selfless person I have ever met and is always the first to extend a hand to someone who needs it. Even though us kids tease her a lot, we're glad she's our mom. One of the things I have always admired about her is that she never compromises her standards for anyone or anything. Even in her modeling days, when it would have been easy to engage in unhealthy behaviors, my mom always stood strong. Mom, thanks for always being there for me and providing counsel and insight. Thanks for teaching me what to strive for in a marital relationship and how to be a good wife and mother. If I can be half of what you have been to me, I will be happy. And my future children are so lucky to have you as a grandma. I'm talking perma-babysitter here. He hee.

Next is Greg's wonderful mother, Colleen. The thing about Colleen that I really admire is the fact that she is so tenacious and hard-working. She put herself through school with three kids in tow, and did it with grace. She's an amazing teacher and is always striving to better herself as a person. She is incredibly sincere as well with a strong sense of purpose. Colleen, thanks for instilling in Greg the values and standards that he has. Thanks for teaching him how to respect a woman. Thanks for your spirit and unselfishness. I feel blessed to be a part of your amazing family and to have you as a mother.

Last but definitely not least is Greg's incredible step mom, Camille. One of the things I love about Camille is the effort she always puts into making things nice. She is the queen of planning fun trips and fun dinner parties, and always takes into consideration everyone who is involved. Camille is such a fun-loving and caring person, not to mention the fact that she is a fabulous cook. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and I always have a great time hanging out with her. Camille, thanks also for being a great mom to Greg. Thanks for accepting and welcoming me into your family, for loving me as one of your own. I really am so lucky to have you as a mom.

So there you have it. I have three way awesome moms and I know you're all jealous. You should be. :P
