Spelling errors and smoggy weather

I proofread a lot at my job... especially during Subway promotional time... and I have to say that I am tired of simple spelling and grammatical errors. To be honest, I never thought I was any more adept at these practices than the next person; but, I'm coming to find out that apparently I was the only one who had to do grammar in school. Or I'm taking crazy pills. The latter, might I add, is a thoroughly viable possibility.

I'm not referring to an occasional typo or anything like that-- I'm talking about the constant and persistent misuse and misspelling of mundane English words that should be innate by now. If I see one more "your the best" or "who's birthday is it" or "it's/its' name is" I will officially go postal. Clueless style. Like Deon getting mad at Murray for shaving his head style. Yes, there is a time and a place to be colloquial and to not follow every little rule in Elements of Style (case in point, a blog). But honestly people, let's employ a shred of common sense before we write. It's "you're the best" and "whose birthday is it" and "its name is..." wow, I feel like I'm working all of the sudden. Maybe all of the red ink and little type are finally exhibiting their effects on my brain. I feel quite affected by it. (I hope some of you caught my humor on that last bit.)

Similarly, I have to say that I'm getting irked by all of the smog. I mean, first we get buckets and buckets of snow, and when we finally have a respite, we get the inversion. Don't get me wrong, it's been lovely to actually see the sun... if only in its smogified glory (oh the pretty colors), but I don't like the feeling that every time I go outside I am inhaling noxious fumes. Call me crazy. I do all the time. I know it happens every year and that I should be used to it by now... but it is fairly repugnant and so seethe I will.

Post Script #1: I hope the two point five of you who read this will consider the fact that I am very sarcastic by nature and thus find posts such as this a delight to write. But I hope no one regards me as the type of person whom is always aggravated by someone or something. I just get bored at work and think I'm funny. He hee.

Post Script #2: Greg gets home on Saturday. YAYA!!

It sounds like you're definitely a cut above the average when it comes to the english language. By the way, I like your blog. I hope you don't mind me reading it.
