Oh bloggity, how I miss you

I am sorry that the content of this blog has been lacking the last little while. In my defense, I was a bit depressed after the lay-off, which engendered an overall lackadaisical attitude that inhibited my desire to post.

And then I started the new job, and have never felt or been so busy. So I have offered paltry, late night snippets that are admittedly sub-par... but, in my defense, I am trying to keep this little blog alive.

I miss having the time to sit down and write.

I miss my blog.

My new job is at another agency similar to the one I just left, though its focus and purpose is surprisingly different. (Which is probably why they are hiring people and not laying off people. I'm just saying...) As I have mentioned before, this is an actual job, which comes with great pay, a Macbook and a Blackberry (though let's be honest, I kind of hate it... iPhones forever baby). One of the only downsides is the vacation time. In that I pretty much don't have any.

I'm glad Hawaii was earlier in the year.

My job is thus far an interesting amalgamation of PR and AS. If you want the nitty gritty details, email me and I'll tell you. I don't really want to get into super specifics on the blog, for various reasons.

Anyway, it's been quite a fast learning curve; I've had to hit the ground running and had to put in some long hours already. But now that I'm nearing the end of the work week, I feel like I am getting things under control. (Thank heavens.)

But I do miss my time on the blog. I miss being not-billable. (And I'm so OCD that I feel guilty even going to the bathroom.)

I'm realizing just how undervalued I was at my last job. I'm realizing that I am indeed capable and competent. Hey, I even have glistening moments of intelligence sometimes. Who knew?

Of my past job I will say this: I miss the place that I used to work. Not the way it is now, but the way it was when I started. When the possibilities of my growth within the company were not yet shunted. I miss Steve's company. And since it no longer exists, I leave it in the fondness of my memory, and move on at a new place, full of life and possibilities.

I just hope I can keep running.
