Serenity

As a child, Spring meant the aroma of fresh-cut lilacs in my room, or later, their scent wafting through my open bedroom window from my very own lilac bush that my parents had planted for me. It meant softball games in the mud and the smell of fresh-cut grass. It marked my birthday and the anticipation of summer. It was signified by days made longer by sunlight, and cool, fragrant nights filled with the scent of renewal and life.

In college, Spring meant the end of the dreaded winter semester. It meant walks to campus in a cloud of flowery aroma from all of the perfectly manicured trees and shrubs. It meant driving up 5th with my windows rolled down, drinking a Pomegranate Blueberry Naked juice and singing along to Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

And now? Spring means holding hands with the one who I love the most as we explore new parts of the city, as we meander over to Temple Square to take photos with the Holga. It means taking an extra second to pause and enjoy the ephemeral smell of Spring blossoms in bloom. It means all of the things I have already mentioned, and then some. Because I get to experience them all with the one I love the most.

I'm so glad to hear that Spring has made its debut. It is soooo beautiful there in the Spring. Enjoy it doubly for me (and p.s. I loved this post.)

There's Wisteria outside our bedroom window, and we've been sleeping with it open at night because we don't have AC. I absolutely LOVE smelling it as I drift off.

Love Spring. :)
