i need some book recommendations...

because i like to read. A. LOT. and i'm fresh out of ideas on what to read next. your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Time to Blog It Up! said...: You do know that it is a hard task to suggest books to other people. We are all at different seasons in our lives and some books that we find terrific, others wonder why. I know that one can always suggest the books that everybody is reading, but how fun is that. I like to find those little treasures that just plain touch me, that make me smile, that make me happy, that make me think about the world around me. I also love a good mystery. Okay, so enough of that,here are my suggestions to you.
Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom. As Amy Tan said, This is a true story that shines and leaves you forever warmed by its afterglow. SO TRUE.
Gift From the Sea, Anne Morrow Lindbergh. The thougts in this book are wound about the sea, a beach and an island. hmmm I have read them many times and still enjoy it. Always something new that uplifts.
Tending Roses by Lisa Wingate. Just a sweet enjoyable book.
A book I just recently read...
Uprising by Margaret Peterson Haddix...Its a simple read but I really liked the historical history. This is about the tragedy of the Triangle Shirtwaist fire in 1911. It's about the young women immigrants that come to America with hope of making a better life for themselves and families. It touches your heart and makes you wonder if things have really changed so much with the immigrants that come into our country, today. Lets hope!
Oh and take the time to read Life of Pi, but don't read it listen to it on cd's. Way enjoyable.
