Madeline Festival '09

Last night, some friends invited husband and I to attend the Madeline Festival '09 at the Cathedral of the Madeline. This year, the Cathedral is celebrating it's centennial with various performances. Last night featured the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, in a performance entitled, "A Celebration in Sacred Song." The choir performed religious music from various parts of the world. They utilized the talent of two amazingly talented boys from the Madeline Choir School in a few of their pieces. They covered everything from liturgical hymns to African American spirituals. And I have to say that one of the highlights for us was the number "I Want Jesus to Walk with Me" featuring an incredible solo by choir member, Alex Boye. Another highlight was when the choir closed with "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing." It was absolutely incredible. It was a lovely evening in a lovely place filled with exultant music. We are so glad we were invited to attend.

'Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing' is an amazing piece. There has never been a time when the words haven't touched my heart. I'm glad you got to experience that.
