One of my most recent reads, Eat, Pray, Love is an interesting memoir of a woman who decides to travel abroad for an entire year following some devastating life events. She spends the first third of the year in Italy, the second in India and the last in Indonesia.
I enjoyed the honesty of Gilbert's writing and her willingness to share her life with the masses in a way that is equal parts didactic and humorous.
This is a great vacation book (I took it to Newport) and a fast read (which is always lovely).
