Five.

Five years ago today, I married my favorite person in the universe. On a Wednesday, no less. It's the best decision I've ever made, and I feel blessed every day.

And the fact that we have the most beautiful baby girl on the planet is just icing on the cake. Ti amo!

The parentals have been married for 29(!) years

I wanted to take a quick moment to send some online love to my amazeballs parentals, who are celebrating their 29th anniversary today. Thank you for literally being the best parents in the universe, and for showing me what a couple should be.

And thank you both for being so awesomely 80s back in the day (and for not killing me for posting this picture)...

Love you both higher than the sky. Happy anniversary.

Four.

Four years. Three moves. One (almost completed) graduate degree. Some job changes. Fun vacations. And one baby later.

I'm more in love than ever.

An anniversary weekend

Taking a much-needed break, the husb and I decided to spend a relaxing anniversary weekend in Park City. We stayed at the Marriott and enjoyed the slight crispness in the air and the beautiful fall colors. We had some incredible meals from El Chubasco, The Eating Establishment and (our favorite) Purple Sage. And we saw this movie, which was incredibly funny and pretty intelligent, genre notwithstanding.

The husb surprised me with tickets to see Brandon Flowers (who I still maintain is Greg's brunette doppelganger) in November, and I am so excited! He cleverly hid the tickets in Tim Gunn's new book, so imagine my reaction when I started thumbing through it and saw the tickets. Greg is pretty great at surprises, which is perfect for me because I happen to love me a good surprise.

In all, it was a perfect little weekend. And I have to say that I'm super happy I married my best friend. Because he's really fun to be around.

If you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it...

Happy Anniversary, love!

I voted.

And I was the only one at the polls. A little bit sad, to be sure... but I guess the primaries aren't as sexy as the general election.
Might I add that I think it's an epic fail on the Republicans' part to not have their primary open. Us Independents like to have a voice on both sides of the fence insofar as the primaries are concerned. Shrug.

P to the S... Today marks my one year anniversary at my current place of employment. In many ways the time has flown; in others, it feels like I've been here much longer (in a good way). So yay for voting and for working. Here's to a lovely Tuesday.

Feb was filled with a couple of birfdays and an anniversary

February's always been a busy month in my family. Two of my siblings have a birthday, and my parents have their anniversary... all in the space of four days. So I know this is a bit belated, but I wanted to give them all a birthday/anniversary shout out. Let's just go in order according to date:

Daniel the great

Dan is perhaps the wittiest and most hilarious 18 year old that has ever existed in the history of mankind. Seriously. He's also a great athlete. I love that he's representing the number 2 this year on the baseball team. Happy birthday bro.

Biz/Bizzer-bot/Bizmark/Big Bizness
(See, I told you she's waaaay hotter than me
)

Biz is not only way hotter than me, she's also an amazing hair stylist. She works down in Vegas at Arcs A Robert Cromeans Salon. (I highly recommend checking it out if you're ever down there.) I can't believe my little sister is 24 this year. I think in my mind, she'll always be 19. Happy b-day seester.

The parentals with my brother, Joe

Some of you may remember this post from last year. The one with my most favorite picture of my parents. Well, they just celebrated their 27th anniversary. That's pretty impressive I think. They're pretty cool parents and I feel blessed to be their daughter. Happy Anniversary, you crazy lovebirds, you.

Two.

Fortuitously, this year our anniversary fell on a Saturday. Thus we were literally able to hang out with each other all day... which made the day all the more enjoyable.

The morning actually began before I arose from slumber, where husband sneakily went to the store for some breakfast goodies and gave Lola (my Corolla) an oil change. (And let's be honest, it was about five months overdue. Whoops.) How sweet is that?

We then made a delicious breakfast consisting of whole wheat, blueberry infused, waffles with real maple syrup, hash browns made from scratch and sausage. (Because I'm Italian, and happen to like sausage. A lot. Methinks it's in the genes.)

Then we were off to the mall to procure these lovelies for my feetsies. Now I can throw away my other shoes that are worn down to the spikes and literally taped together. Booya.

For dinner, we went to our favoritest place, Martine, to enjoy a delicious and Dine O'Round-sponsored meal.

In the end though, it was just nice to spend the day with the one I love most and remember and enjoy the day where we were joined together forever. And I think in order to avoid any more cheesiness, I will leave it at that.

Anniversary weekend

For our one year anniversary, Greg and I decided to spend a night up in Park City. And Gregtron, being the wonderful husband that he is, planned the whole thing because I wanted to be surprised. We stayed at a great little place on Main Street called the April Inn. For dinner, we went to an incredibly delicious establishment called Purple Sage. I haven't had food that good in awhile.

It was pretty rainy on Saturday, so we did a little window shopping and then came home. But it was nice to just relax and not have to do a whole lot. A few days later we got our wedding cake from my parents (who had graciously been keeping it in their freezer this past year) and ate some. It still tasted pretty good actually. (Gotta love carrot cake, eh?)

Just some way cool flowers to enjoy at work.

Best restaurant. Maybe ever.

We're so presh.

Yes, this is a jock strap made of fur. You can die happy.

At least we didn't break the knife this time.

The best year...

One year ago today, Greg and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple. To say that it was the best day of my life (however cliche that may sound) is an understatement. I just remember feeling the most intense sense of joy I have ever felt. I also felt a contentment and a peace in knowing that I had found the man that I would spend forever with. My mom says we were both glowing that day, and as I review our pictures, I can see it on our faces. In some ways I wish that we could relive that wondrous day every anniversary. Because it was a great day. The best day. And it's only gotten better since then.

To my Gregory I say: Ti amo con tutta l'anima. Sei la mia anima gemella. Voglio passare il resto della mia vita con te. Per sempre tua, me. :)
